Memorial Day at Raquette Lake

We decided to take a 'quick' four day trip to Raquette Lake, departing at 7am on Friday and returning around 5:30 Monday evening. Despite almost 17 hours of traveling in the car, it was a great weekend.
Many of us provided a great meal for the black flies- they were TERRIBLE. Even though the weather was outstanding and very warm- even when compared with summer weather in the Adirondacks- we almost didn't want to go outside... but we did anyway, and you can still see our bug bites to prove it!
Paul was thrilled to be in the boat again, and was in the driver's seat with BB within a few minutes of our arrival on Friday:
Kaitlyn and Paul relaxing on their chairs on the porch (while waiting to get attacked by the bugs!):
Kaitlyn was more relaxed in the boat ride on the way back to town on Monday, but was very apprehensive on Friday:
There were ALOT of rides in the John Deere Gator:
Paul (and Kaitlyn) set up a kitchen inside- and made many yummy meals of chili, hamburgers, pork, macaroni and cheese and more...:
Paul riding in an old toy dump truck- at one point Kaitlyn was chasing him around as he did laps around the kitchen table:
One of my favorite series of pictures was when Kaitlyn got her hands on daddy's beer while he was grilling.... make sure check out her wailing in the 2nd picture when we took it away:

Always enjoy sharing special times at Moose Lodge with you. Thanks for the memories and the photos to relive these visits. Even with the bugs. Looking forward to your next vacation. Missed you as soon as you pulled out of town. Hugs and kisses Gram and BB
