Cookies and a fork...

What do they have in common? Some of the pictures mommy happens to have on the camera.

Here daddy and Paul share some fresh cookies (always an evening favorite).Last night Paul was showing his thumbs up sign after mommy gave him several "thumbs up"s for using his fork very well.

Bear Time

Paul decided to help mommy to update our family of Vermont Teddy Bears this afternoon with some new seasonal outfits (including the birthday items for Paul's bear). He found that some of their accessories were tons of fun...
Easter and the Fourth of July are a while away, but he's ready.

Halloween Take One

Tonight was the Fall Fest for Paul's daycare center- all of the kids, parents and families were invited to a really fun dinner ("nuu nuu's", "ahsouce" and "mehbahls") and tons of fun activities. Gram came along with us and we had a great time! There was a pumpkin decorating contest which mommy is motivated to put a good entry in for next year....

Paul's costume for this year was a bumble bee- decided after our poll was published but we weren't able to update the blog (sorry folks!).

Pumpkin Carving Time

What's inside a pumpkin? Note how clean the table (as well as Paul) is in this first picture. One of the pumpkins we had to carve was a white pumpkin- this one was "mommy's", per Paul.
Paul quickly realized how fun it was to help clean out the pumpkins. Here he's working on the goop from "his" orange pumpkin.
Our neighbors came by and helped us to carve our pumpkins- thanks, Elizabeth and Colin, for your help!
Of course mommy had to put lights in the pumpkins (it's almost close to Christmas light season....). We put them on the back porch so that we could enjoy them last night but they'll move to the front porch today.

Reading and the Giants

Paul has been doing a lot of reading lately. One of this favorite things to do is to grab a book and have you read it to him. Here are a few pictures from the past week. He is also starting to enjoy looking at the books himself or reading to Cookie Monster. You can also see us getting ready to cheer on the Giants tonight!

Loving the window stickers

Paul has spent most of his time at home today playing with the Halloween window stickers. At 7:15 this morning, he ran across the living room when he remembered they were there and "tore open the shutters" (okay, curtains) to find them on our back sliding glass door. "trick or treat" isn't quite spelled correctly anymore with the gummy letters (and a few letters have been torn in excitement of moving them around the window) but Paul is having a blast with them.

A Halloween Surprise

Paul and mommy arrived home today to find a big box from Nana and Pop Pop Redfern all the way from New Hampshire. Paul was quite excited and spent most of the night looking through all of the treats (for once the paper wasn't the best part). There were plenty of snacks (he enjoyed a bag of teddy grahams and mommy may have eaten some Cheez-its), halloween books, window stickers (which he tried to hang up right away) and much more. Somehow a Giants foam finger made it's way into the box (thanks, Uncle Chris!) and although it kind of scared Paul at first he finished the night by yelling "go!" when he picked it up. Still working on having him say "Giants"....

Baby Fern #2

Some of the fun (and fatigue!) around our house these days is related to the arrival 2nd child around February 18th. This past Monday we had an ultrasound to check everything out (all was okay)- here is a snapshot of Baby Fern #2 (as we've been calling him/her). The little one was really scrunched up for most of the ultrasound so we didn't get to see a "full body" picture but here is their head, belly and an arm or two.

We were telling Paul that this is a picture of his new brother or sister, but it doesn't seem to register. He's very good at giving the baby (mommy's belly) kisses, hugs and even sharing his juice or milk with the baby. Mommy's belly button even got a goldfish one day at snack time (Paul thought the baby was hungry).

Apple Harvest Festival

Mommy and Paul headed to the 44th Annual Apple Harvest Festival today. I couldn't believe how crowded it was- and after all of mommy's talking about all of the apples we were going to see, there were a whole lot more vendors/craft shops than apples!Paul LOVED the hay ride (we went on it twice in a row). He picked out some pumpkins and apples to bring home. Of course, Paul had to move the pumpkins all around the front yard and driveway to find the perfect spot for them. We had one of the apples at lunch- he sure picked a good one!

Tickle time with daddy

What a fun way to end the day- daddy and Paul were trying to out-tickle each other (daddy won!)

Bag Man part 2

What daddy did not describe in last night's post was that Paul spent at least twenty minutes "bagging" his favorite toys.... books, the grill items, puzzle pieces, his drum, and more... I had to add these extra pictures as it was quite a funny scene!

Our son the bag man...

While we were getting ready for bed the other night Paul III decided to play with a bunch of plastic bags that we were getting ready to bring to daycare. We were also playing with Cookie Monster (a gift from Uncle Chris) and George eating mommies toes!
