A Night Out for Mommy and Daddy

Last night was the formal Cupola dinner on campus for mommy and daddy (not our usual Saturday night attire by any stretch of the imagination). Paul had a fun night with Gram but seemed a bit sad when we were leaving. I think we'll have to get him an orange and blue bow tie next!

Daddy's Little Helper

Since the most exciting things in Paul's life are tractors, trains and pumpkins right now, helping daddy to carry in the trash cans (with "weals") was quite a treat. How do we keep this up?
Mommy and daddy also decided after driving by the really big tractors working on the new athletic center at Gettysburg (which we have to do every morning after hearing about the tractors from the minute we leave the house each morning) that we'd like to go back to the days when seeing a tractor was the BEST part of your day - and would have you excited for at least ten minutes.

Pumpkin Season

Paul came home from school on Wednesday to find three little pumpkins in the "pumpkin patch" (where Gram and Paul had planted seeds but nothing grew- so Gram placed some little pumpkins there magically). He had quite alot of fun playing with the pumpkins and even tried to fit them into the pumpkin cupcake mold he got out of the cabinets.... as you can see, it didn't go so well :)

Giving Kisses

On Monday night at dinner (after Paul wanted to drink water from a big boy cup, hence the topless son at our kitchen table and the wet shirt on the back of his chair) Paul showed us that he could pucker up and give kisses... which resembled a fish face as well. Needless to say mommy ran over as fast as she could to get some of these first kisses.

How do flowers work?

Need I say more? We have two beautiful sunflowers blooming on the side of our house.... one has a few less leaves after Paul got excited by the "ghrean" "leeees".

Let's Go Giants!

In case you didn't know, it's daddy's favorite time of year- football season! He and Paul were ready for the Giants' season-opener last Thursday. Paul wore his Eli Manning jersey to school, of course, and daddy changed into his the minute he got home.
Paul has been trying very hard to give "thumbs up" but, as you can see, his pointer finger seems to want to join in on the fun.

Happy Birthday Uncle Ryan!

We got to celebrate Uncle Ryan's 20th birthday on Sunday with a special visit- watching football, riding the "truck" outside and birthday cake (what could be better!).

Stay tuned for the video of Uncle Ryan playing horse with Paul...

The Redferns venture into the world of video....

Daddy has a fun new toy that he's testing out for work (a Flip Video camera), so we've tried it out at home to capture so fun footage of Paul. It may take a second for them to load, so just bear with it (especially those of you on dial-up internet, Gram :) When you load the video, hit the pause button, wait for the red line to fully load, and then hit play.

Tonight's first video is of Paul playing with the tissue paper from a birthday gift mommy got in the mail from Nanna and Pop Pop Redfern- clearly the paper was totally exciting as he could barely speak during the entire video.

The second video is Paul III discussing his football preferences with daddy... usually he's not doing such "positive" things at the dinner table.

Sorry about all of the "booger" talk - as Paul's had quite the cold this week we've been talking a lot about snot, blowing your nose and the such....

Redfern's 3 - Nasty Cold 2: Redfern's win!!!

So as you can see by the headline Paul is feeling a lot better today. Still a little stuffed up and a small cough - but better. Last night we grilled outside and Paul got to take his grill out and help daddy. We had corn on the cob and hamburgers which you can see Paul eating below. This afternoon we took out our paints and did some painting.
