Ice Cream Picnic

In attempting to move our pictures onto our computer, I found this one from a week or two ago... an ice cream picnic on a Friday night in the living room. Talk about a great way to end the week!
We may have also had a small ice cream picnic again tonight...

Construction Kate

Tonight when we got home, little Paul decided to share his "Bob the Builder" construction hat with Kaitlyn... she loved it!
Make sure you check out the puddle of drool on her chin- she's been soaking a few bibs a day.

Weekend Visitors, Mommy's Birthday and Wedding News!

This weekend we had a fun Sunday with Aunt Char (or "Aunt Charlotte" as Paul would say) and Uncle Charles. Kaitlyn played for quite a while with Aunt Char and Paul and Charles had some silly exchanges:
Yesterday was my birthday (#31... but I'm not counting!)- it was quite a busy day at work and at home, but we did enjoy dinner at home with our family- and birthday cake thanks to Gram! Paul (the 31-year old one!) and I enjoyed dinner out on Saturday night- after several attempts to find a 'new' and intersting place to eat, we ended up at an Applebees... Here is an attempt at a picture with both kids- note that Paul is most interested in his cake and ice cream (although I can't blame him!):
But the best news of the weekend was that Chris and Megan got engaged!!!! We are so excited for them!! Congratulations to the happy couple!

More Vacation Memories- Lake Sunapee

The vacation fun continued with our week in NH- still with great weather!
The boys as Uncle Chris was headed home- which made little Paul quite sad:
Mommy and Kate hanging out at the beach:
Kate and PopPop at the beach:
Kate and Nana at the beach (this was during her one morning at the beach!):
Paul proudly displaying his load of sand:
Paul having a pizza picnic lunch after swimming- okay, digging- all morning:
Uncle Chris and his neice- of course she has on her "I Love My Uncle" bib:
Paul, Nana and PopPop lounging in the hammock- he loved it once he got comfortable:
Paul III giving me a "haircut"... using markers and some other items to cut and dry:
Three members of our family in the lake- with shovels and rakes, of course:
"UNCLE CHI, DIG IN THE SAND WITH ME!!"
Paul III acorn hunting with PopPop (some acorns and rocks made the trip back to PA with us):

More vacation memories- Raquette Lake

Somehow vacation already feels like a long time ago, so here are more of our fun memories to keep our great times fresh in our mind...
Paul III and his "tree" at the Moose Lodge Chip and Putt- the tree has grown quite a bit and is already much taller than Paul:
Kaitlyn and her new tree, also at the Chip and Putt:
Gram, Paul III and Mommy headed in Gram's boat to the library in town:
A picnic lunch at the leantoo:
How many people does it take to get a 5 1/2 month old into a bathing suit:
And a picture which we somehow captured of our vacationing crew:
Paul and Gram digging (I also thought this was a neat, artistic picture):
Paul "cooking" with pine cones- note the "burners", "stove items" and "apron" (the apron was also on during the tree picture... much to daddy's dismay!):

Thanks for a fun summer Uncle Ryan!

After spending the summer working at the Eisenhower Farm in Gettysburg (and getting to see us alot), Uncle Ryan is headed back to college soon. He came over to enjoy dinner with us (and even brought yummy pizza tonight!) the past two nights and even had a sleepover last night (which may have been more fun for daddy, his video game buddy). Paul has learned very well how to yell down the hall "Uncle Ryan come play with me." Uncle Ryan and Paul spent some time today driving a boat and john deere gator - a combination of pillows, blankets, and "keys" (Kaitlyn's toys) on Paul's bed. Here they are waving to the other boats who were driving by them.
Kaitlyn continues to grow at warp speed and had tons of fun in her bouncy-jumpy thing.
After a while, she got curious how it worked....

Vacation Pics- 1 (Raquette Lake)

Before our camera ran out of batteries just now, I had copied these pictures for the blog- Daddy and Kate "dancing" on the porch at Moose Lodge:
And Daddy, BB and little Paul in front of BB's big loader:
Paul didn't get to see the tractor in action but still talks about the loader!
More pictures to come over the next few days...

Relaxing at home

After a ten and a half hour trip on Friday home from NH (at about hour seven we were beginning to wonder if little Paul learning to talk was a good thing- he talked the ENTIRE time he was awake), we are settling back into life at home before work and daycare begins for all of us tomorrow.
Kaitlyn really enjoyed being back in her bathtub last night.
She's also been rolling around quite a bit (but hasn't mastered the belly-to-back maneuver quite yet, causing her much distress at times) which has put her into some funny positions in her crib- check out the location of her feet (grandmas, don't worry- she wasn't stuck and wiggled herself right out).
We moved some things around in living room earlier today so that Kaitlyn has more room when she starts crawling- while doing so little Paul decided to wear one of her toys as a hat while sitting in his red "PAUL" chair in the living room.
We also arrived home to a mowed yard (thanks, Uncle Ryan!) and some "big big big" sunflowers in little Paul's garden.

More vacation pictures to follow in the coming days!

My favorite things to do on vacation

Paul III:
Dig in the sand- at Lake Sunapee, NH
Dig in the sand- at Raquette Lake, NY
Drive the boat (at Raquette Lake, NY)
Eat!! Ice Cream and Birthday Cake (an early treat for mommy) with Gram and BB at Raquette Lake, NY
Make yummy ice cream sandwiches from Oreo Cookie crumbles with Nana
Dig in the sand with Uncle Chris in NH (notice a trend here?)
Kate:
Hang out at the beach (taking after mommy!) in NH.
Sit up on my own (don't you dare lie me on my back... I want to sit up- and will let you hear about it!).
Go for a swim- even though the water was chilly, I did well.
Do standing up exercises with Pop Pop (not pictured, but this one was cute anyway)
Paul Jr. and Leigh Anne:
Spending time with our families (Kate was already asleep on this gorgeous night at Raquette Lake when we went for a post-dinner boat ride)
