Picnic

I got home tonight and heard about some picnic that Leigh-Anne, Paul and Kaitlyn had for dinner. Here are some pictures...

A Weekend at the Aspers "Pool"

We decided this weekend to open our own pool club in our backyard- we upgraded from a one-ring inflatable pool to a three ring pool (which is already down to a 2-ring after a hole)- although to Paul, it was "BIG BIG BIG." Uncle Dave and Brian came to test out our membership options Saturday afternoon and Aunt Kerry visited as well.

The pool (and sand table and slide nearby) were a hit- as well as our hot dogs at lunch on the deck. Paul can polish off 1 1/2 without trying, so we're thinking of having him train for the hot dog eating contests when he gets older.
Kaitlyn even got into the pool Sunday afternoon (by then it was a grassy, warm, kind of gross mess) after watching us play in the monrning.
She stayed in for almost half an hour- she seemed to really like it and didn't mind at all when her brother would jump in nearby.

Uncle Ryan came by (and was quicky asked/demanded to borrow one of daddy's bathing suits) and afterwards joined us for a hamburger cake- which daddy and Paul have been eyeing up at the grocery store all summer (it's not quite yet snowman cake season).

Dinner With Kate...

Is always good for a few laughs- and last night Kaitlyn was in a great mood (which is usually the case, unless she's tired).
She also showed off her great placemat and napkin stealing tricks-

Who's in the bed....

Paul III and Kaitlyn decided to make themselves at home in mommy and daddy's bed the other morning... they sure do look "comfy," as little Paul described it!

Later in the day, Paul helped Kaitlyn to play "catch"- although she had enough fun on her own.

Raquette Lake trip

We had a great few days at Raquette Lake for the fourth of July (despite it raining almost every day and barely making it above 60 degrees the entire trip) with Gram and BB, and little Paul has a bug-bit-bitten face to show for it!
Kaitlyn enjoyed her first trip to camp (and was a great car traveler) and seemed to enjoy the new sites, sounds and fresh air. She "chatted" for quite a while to everyone at the 4th of July picnic at our camp.
Paul talking about a boat ride (one of his favorite things to do) while sitting in one of the rocking chairs on the porch.
Daddy and Paul reading the New York Times on Sunday afternoon.
Kaitlyn and Paul doing tummy time together.
A picnic on the porch with Gram, Paul and Kaitlyn.
Paul shadowing his buddy, BB, at his desk.
Little Paul testing out his Moose Lodge hat on Kaitlyn.
Gram, BB and Little Paul on a John Deere Gator ride- covered up to protect themselves from the bugs and the rain.

Paul III riding a bike!

We ended our vacation week with a stop in West Caldwell,NJ, to see Aunt Chrissy (who just got engaged!) and spend some time with Nana, Pop Pop and Uncle Chris. A highlight of the trip (and what little Paul talked about THE ENTIRE FIVE HOUR DRIVE, except when he was sleeping, on our way from Raquette Lake) was riding the tricycles at Nana and PopPop's house.
The major achievement happened tonight when he pedaled on his own!
Getting some help from Nana to get started...
Here he goes... vroom vroom!
Watch out, Lance Armstrong!
