I have toes?

Another fun discovery of Kaitlyn's recently- her toes. She doesn't always find them, but when she does, she is fascinated by them.

And here I go...

Kaitlyn has been a ball of energy the past few days and we caught her in action rolling over today. Getting ready...
Halfway there....
Hooray!

Bathtime helper

Kaitlyn and I had a helper in the bath the other day- little Paul! He gently (as gentle as an excited 2 1/2 year old can be!) washed her belly, arms, head and cheeks- and lost interest after a few minutes. The look on her face in this one may have said it best- a little bit worried....

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

This weekend was Paul's 31st birthday- somehow that felt older to him than 30 (or is it the two children who seem to zap most of our energy and the fact that not only do we have a house, but we're in the process of refinancing it, which made him feel old?). We had a fun dinner with Gram and BB Saturday night (translate- little Paul made Gram dig in the dirt and plant flowers until dinner time, at which point he and BB waited "patiently" for birthday cake- a fruit tart). We went to Home Depot and Chili's on Sunday for the 'real' birthday.
Of course I had to post this one- Paul tried to make a get away with one of the gifts...

Happy 2nd month birthday, Kaitlyn!

The post-it-note birthday signs return for Kaitlyn's 2nd month birthday (how time has flown by!).
Apparently she's celebrating her 2nd month birthday by sleeping more at night, and was even in bed before little Paul last night (which should have been a relief for me, but instead I was anxious to hear her every sound and make sure she was okay!).

Cookies for daddy

Daddy comes home today from a conference so Paul and I made some cookies for him... of course we had to test them first (while sitting in daddy's chair!).

Playing with Kaitlyn

This morning Kaitlyn was especially playful (and of course is sleeping again- no complaints from me!). She's really been enjoying her playmat and this chair with hanging toys recently. At times it seems like she's trying to talk with some of the critters hanging in the picture. She's also smiling a whole lot and even gave me a big grin at 4:40am this morning when she was up for a late night (or early morning?) snack- she already knows how to butter up mom.
She was also smiling a lot last night sitting with me in her boppy while we reclined on the couch. I was making funny faces to get her to smile while holding up the camera... clearly there isn't a smile in the picture but I thought that it turned out quite funny anyway.

Little Paul at the Aspers Masters

On Sunday afternoon little Paul and I played golf around the house while daddy watched the Masters... and he had his plaid pants on from Easter as appropriate attire.

Easter in NJ

We had a great trip to see Nana, PopPop, Uncle Chris and Uncle Ryan this weekend in NJ. Everyone was a good traveler (whew!) and we got home safely Sunday afternoon to finish watching the Masters.Paul enjoyed many Easter egg hunts, both inside and out. There was a trail of eggs from his room to his easter basket on Sunday morning, although he picked up whatever eggs he saw first!
There was also a fair amount of "uncle torture"- Uncle Ryan was rolled across the front yard at one point. We even got to spend a special Easter dinner with Aunt Mary Ellen, Uncle Bill, Katherine and Megan.

Fun with Uncle Ryan

The end of the weekend was spent by daddy and Uncle Ryan planting the previously mentioned forsythia as well as 20 white pine seedlings on the top of the hill behind our house (we are incredibly greatful for Ryan's help!). No sooner had Uncle Ryan finished working in the yard than his little buddy HAD to play with him.

Easter - take one

We headed to Gram and BB's on Saturday night for an early Easter celebration. With an easter egg hunt, of course...Wait- there's something in these eggs! Cheerios!
Paul shows the proper way to eat what was inside the easter eggs...And here's what happens when we tried (unsuccessfully) to take a family picture... Daddy's eyes were closed, Kaitlyn was looking in the wrong direction (but at least awake!), Paul wanted desperately to go look for more easter eggs in the front yard, and mommy was doing all she could to keep Paul in her arms.

More trees...

On Saturday Paul went to Lowe's and Home Depot- and came home with a carful of dirt, mulch, forsythia and other supplies. Paul got to ride with the trees on his way home (it was a good thing mommy and Kaitlyn didn't go!). Paul talked all weekend about the "dirt in my shoes" from the trees.

Do you think they're siblings?

Here are pictures of Paul and Kaitlyn at about 6 weeks old....

So proud of my puzzle

Paul continues to enjoy doing puzzles and had a great time with this one from Aunt Katherine- FOUR things that go (airplane, rocket ship, fire truck and tractor/crane). Notice the finger headed to his mouth- he's (and therefore the rest of us are doing so as well!) battling his final teeth, molars, which are waiting to appear.
