Taking a bath

As part of his exploration of the 'new' (meaning we've moved them back to our house from Gram and BB's basement!) items around our house for the baby, Paul decided that the bathtub was something of interest to him. He decided to swim in the tub (video from our swimming lesson last night to come later in the weekend)and also wanted to bring the bathtub out to the living room to play

By request... belly pictures

With about three weeks to go until Baby Fern #2 is scheduled to arrive (aaaahhhhh!!!), Kelly requested some pictures of my growing belly.... so close your eyes if you don't want to check these out. Hello in there.....
The baby is still moving quite a bit (almost to the point where it's tyring to work it's way out the side or top of my stomach- quite comfortable... or not!) and seems to have dropped down a bit - which means more room for air and food, although also a reality dose that indeed the little person will be arriving sometime in the next month. We now have the car seat in our car, hospital bags packed and little Paul has been 'helping' to put diapers out and checking out the baby's toys (he does a good job of showing you how to lie down in the play gym on the floor).

When I grow up....

Paul has recently been having a lot of fun giving everyone who will let him (mommy, daddy, Uncle Ryan, Uncle Chris....) a haircut. His haircuts are quite gentle, although as you can see by the pictures below he has chosen to use the tools from his work bench to give these haircuts! Pliers, a saw, and a hammer are GREAT tools for cutting hair.
He also has a lot of fun "cleaning up" the hair which falls on the floor... just like at the "bahber shop" where daddy and Paul get their hair cut.

What a hairdoo!

Last night was bath night for Paul, and apparently he must have still had a few wet hairs and slept in a funny position since this is what his hairdoo was this morning... too precious not to have a picture taken!
Paul was, of course, most concerned with how much of the truck puzzle he could get done before having to get dressed and head out for the day.

Uncles are the Best!

Paul (and mommy and daddy) had a great weekend- Uncle Chris and Uncle Ryan were quite the stars of Paul's world for three days. They put up with lots of tickling, being chased around the house, sharing their food (Paul got a 2nd morning snack when Uncle Ryan was eating breakfast and kindly shared some bagel on Saturday and Sunday mornings), and reading books and doing puzzles.

Possibly the best part of the weekend, depending who you ask, was that Paul determined on Sunday evening that Uncle Chris should stay in the alphabet block "house" we've created in our den. We promise that we didn't laugh a bit to ourselves as we heard pleas from downstairs from Uncle Chris to be allowed out ....

Swimming with BB

Saturday night BB and Gram came over to celebrate their birthdays with us. Here is a short video of Paul III showing BB how to swim (be sure to watch until the end when they start splashing and blowing bubbles)...

Getting ready for the game...

In case you don't live in our house, you might not have known that the Giants are playing in a NFL playoff game today. Daddy, mommy and Paul went to Perkins for breakfast (this became a playoff game ritual for daddy and Paul last year and they decided it was okay to bring mommy today) and then we stopped at WalMart so that Paul could pick out a 'new' football (a little foam one)- although the child-sized John Deere Gator (just like BB's) was of much stronger interest to Paul!

When we got home, daddy decided it was important to teach Paul how to play another important aspect of the pre-game ritual: Madden. Mommy went upstairs for a few minutes and this is what she returned to find...

Paul's first date

Last Friday Paul had a date with his friend Elizabeth (20 months old), who is the daughter of mommy and daddy's good friends Mary and Rob - which meant mommy and daddy got to have adult company for dinner as well! Not only did they get to play on Paul's bed and read some books together but then they shared a romantic dinner together. Paul has been pointing at the chair where Elizabeth sat for dinner all week and saying "Bet chair" (Elizabeth's chair).

Clementines

We bought clementines at the store the other day and Paul has been obsessed by them ever since. He can eat 3 or 4 at a sitting and loves to peel them himself.
